This National T Level Week, we are celebrating the achievements of students who are putting their learning into action through industry placements. Among them is Nyla-Rae Graham, a T Level student who has gained valuable experience working with Mace on the Peterborough Court interiors project in central London.
Through her placement, Nyla-Rae has had the opportunity to see first-hand how large-scale construction projects are delivered. From observing how teams collaborate on site to understanding the importance of safety, planning and communication, every day has offered a new insight into the realities of working in the sector.
T Level programmes are designed in partnership with industry to ensure learners develop the skills and confidence that employers need. Students complete 45 days of structured work experience as part of their qualification, helping them to bridge the gap between education and employment.
Nyla-Rae’s success story is a brilliant example of what can be achieved when education and industry come together. Her drive and enthusiasm have made a strong impression on the team at Mace, and she continues to build her knowledge and professional experience as she progresses in her studies.
South Bank Colleges works with a growing number of employers across London to provide high-quality placements that prepare students for the world of work. Partnerships with organisations such as Mace give learners the chance to gain practical experience, develop professional networks and take the first steps towards a rewarding career.
As the demand for skilled professionals in construction continues to grow, students like Nyla-Rae are proving that the future of the industry is in capable hands.
