Students had the chance to hear directly from professionals working across a variety of sectors. At the Clapham campus, Joe (JP) from Nala’s Baby led an engaging careers workshop for Art, Design, Media and Graphic Design students, offering a valuable glimpse into the creative industries and what it takes to succeed within them.
Meanwhile, construction students at the Nine Elms campus benefited from a practical and insightful session delivered by Temi from Willmott Dixon, focusing on how to present themselves effectively in interviews. The session equipped students with essential skills to stand out in competitive recruitment processes.
Business students were also treated to a unique opportunity to hear from a Business Apprentice at Google, who shared first-hand experience of working within a global organisation. The talk provided clear, relatable guidance on apprenticeship pathways, career progression, and how to break into the industry.

Across Brixton, Clapham and Nine Elms, Careers Month ensured that support was not just available, but visible and accessible.
Resource booths set up across campuses gave students direct access to guidance on wellbeing, next steps, and career planning. These informal, drop-in spaces encouraged students to ask questions, explore options, and connect with the wide range of support services available to them.
At the Brixton campus, Careers and Employability Drop-in Clinics offered tailored, one-to-one support for Adult ESOL students. With contributions from partners including London Metropolitan University, Brown’s Hotel, an Amazon apprentice, and Southwark Works, students received practical help with CV writing, interview preparation, and job searching. The sessions created meaningful opportunities for students to engage directly with employers and take tangible steps towards employment.
Spotlight on Apprenticeships
Apprenticeships were a key focus throughout the month, with a series of pop-up events, Q&A sessions, and awareness talks taking place across campuses.
Students explored different apprenticeship pathways, gained advice on applications, and learned about the wide range of opportunities available across industries. Health and Social Care students, in particular, benefited from a dedicated awareness session that clearly outlined how apprenticeships work within the sector and how to access them.
These sessions helped demystify the apprenticeship route and highlighted it as a valuable and accessible pathway into skilled careers.
Preparing for the Next Step
For students considering university, a series of targeted sessions provided practical guidance on applications, interviews, and progression routes across different subject areas.
Health and Social Care students took part in a UCAS “Acing the Interview” workshop delivered by London South Bank University, where they developed confidence in answering questions, presenting themselves professionally, and making a strong impression.
Sports students also benefited from a Personal Statement workshop delivered during a visit from the University of West London. The session offered tailored support on how to structure personal statements, highlight skills and experience, and build strong university applications.
For students interested in creative pathways, Games Design learners attended a university talk delivered by UCA, which explored higher education options within the games industry. The session provided valuable insight into course choices, portfolio development, and potential career routes in this fast-growing sector.
