Is this course for you?

This apprenticeship is ideal if you enjoy solving technical problems and helping people use digital systems. It is suited to apprentices working in IT support, network support, telecoms, digital communications or technical helpdesk roles. You may be helping users with hardware, software, networks, devices, internet access, systems or communication tools.

What experience and skills will you gain?

You will learn how to provide technical support, diagnose faults, install and configure hardware and software, follow security procedures and use support tools such as ticketing systems. Depending on your job role, you may also develop skills in networking, digital communications, cloud systems, remote support, user guidance, maintenance and service improvement. You will build both technical confidence and strong customer service skills.

  • How will you be assessed?

    You will be assessed through workplace evidence, technical tasks, assessor reviews, documentation, professional discussions and preparation for End Point Assessment. You will need to show that you can troubleshoot problems, follow safe and secure working practices, communicate clearly and support ICT systems in a real workplace.

  • Where can this course take you?

    This apprenticeship can lead to roles such as IT support technician, service desk technician, network support technician, digital communications technician or technical support assistant. It can also help you progress to higher-level apprenticeships or further training in networking, cyber security, cloud computing, software, infrastructure or digital support.
