As the academic year comes to a close, Global Travel student Bukky is reflecting on a year filled with learning, personal growth and valuable industry experiences.

After successfully submitting all of his coursework, Bukky is taking time to look back on the highlights of the year and consider what comes next as he explores future career and study opportunities.

One of the standout moments was visiting Brown's Hotel, a Rocco Forte Hotel, during his first familiarisation trip. The experience provided an insight into one of London's most historic hotels and offered a closer look at how the hospitality industry operates behind the scenes.

Throughout the year, Bukky also expanded his understanding of the travel sector, learning about the different roles within the industry and how travel products are created and sold. Exploring destinations such as the Seychelles and Chamonix in France helped broaden his knowledge of global tourism and the opportunities available within the sector.

Alongside developing industry knowledge, Bukky also recognised how much he had grown personally.

Reflecting on the challenges of balancing coursework and deadlines, he shared that one of his biggest achievements was proving to himself that he could overcome self doubt and stay focused when it mattered most. Through determination and hard work, he successfully completed and submitted his assignments, even during some of the busiest periods of the year.

The year also gave Bukky the opportunity to connect with staff and fellow students, building relationships and gaining experiences that have helped shape his confidence and future ambitions.

Looking ahead, Bukky is exploring opportunities within the travel industry, particularly in customer facing roles where he can help people plan and book their ideal holidays. He is also considering returning to continue his studies, keeping his options open as he decides on the next stage of his journey.

Bukky's story is a reminder that education is about much more than qualifications. It is about building confidence, developing new skills, discovering interests and preparing for the future.
